I just needed a phone
With my parents all alone
In a city that was so far away
I picked up the brochure
It kind of pulled me into its lure
And AL TEL is where I did stray
When he answered the phone
Oh, I heard quite a tone
Musical laughter in his voice really made my day
Funny and smart
Oh he really has a heart
And English? well, there will be lessons at another time, in another way
The music did not end
With a phone contract and a pen
I can go on, there is much more to say
He brought many smiles to me
And beautiful songs sung off-key
And Jazz records? oh he did play
And the stories of his fiddle
They really made me giggle
The end of that night, I really wanted to delay
I could go on with this story
There is more, much more glory
But it will have to wait, for another poetry day!
